FASHION ART

I'm always looking for ways to joozsh (my word for adding a pop of glamour) up a blank wall or a dull space in my living areas.  I go through color phases and lately I've really been diggin' all things NEON!  The vibrancy neon creates makes me feel so happy and totally boosts my creativity.  I came across a Gallery in Miami the Oliver Gal Gallery.  It's a collective group of artist lead by Lola Sanchez & Ana Gal.  I love all of their pieces because they blend together two of my favorite things, FASHION AND ART.  Brands such as CHANEL, HERMES, LANVIN and LOUIS VUITTON are all highlighted in these fun and unpretentious works of art!   They have multiple collections ranging from Abstract, Neon, Paissage, Typography and Comic Pop Art.  Here are a few of my favorites.....

THE COLOR PINK

It's no secret that I LOVE the color pink!  Not only does this feminine color leave me feeling soft and pretty it also holds amazing healing energies.  All colors have the ability to stir our emotions but pinks lovely nature is calming, tender and comforting.  Surround yourself with all different shades of pink!  Good news is they make everything in pink these days, coffee pots, toasters, CHAMPAGNE, pillows, rugs, shoes, lamps....  It's easy to incorporate this dreamy shade into your life!   "The color pink represents compassion, nurturing and love. It relates to unconditional love and understanding, and the giving and receiving of nurturing." colorpsychology.com  I gathered the info below from colorpsychology.com I find it fascinating!! ENJOY...

The Color Pink Represents:
Unconditional love: Pink relates to both unconditional love and romantic love.
Compassion: Empathy and understanding are the fuel for pink's nurturing.
Nurturing: Pink is both the giving and the receiving of love, understanding and respect.
Hope: Pink inspires the possibility of a positive outcome.

Variations of the Color Pink

Blush: This very pale pink has sensual and sexual connotations. It is non-threatening but lacks passion and energy.
Rose Pink: This is the pink of universal love and unity. It is mature, feminine and intuitive.
Salmon Pink: There is a touch of orange in salmon pink. It encourages the flirt, and can be a sign of the timid lover, all talk and no play.
Orchid: This is an unusual lavender-pink and relates to the unconventional and the individual doing his or her own thing. It is the non conformist.
Fuchsia: A blend of deep pink and blue, fuchsia inspires confidence, assurance and maturity, a more responsible and controlled nurturing and love.
Hot Pink: Hot pink inspires a more passionate, playful and sensual love. It exudes warmth and happiness and a love of life.

GO GREEN! Luck of the Irish!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY KIDS!  I hope all of you are gettin' your green on!  Emerald and mint greens are EVERYWHERE this season!  I'm loving it, the colors are so fresh and springy.  The good news is that we don't have to quit the green after March 17th anymore.  Green is IN in a BIG BIG way!  Companies have been jumping on the color trend bandwagon, so awesome brands like Sephora and ULTA are making it super easy to stay on trend with eye liners, shadows and beautiful jeweled toned nail polish!  Here are some of my faves...

Coolest chick on the block

I absolutely ADORE Drew Barrymore!  I love her carefree style, free spirit and find her attitude towards life totally inspiring. :)  Her down to earth approach makes me want to reexamine myself.  Just let everything go and  LET IT ALL BE!  Life is beautiful thing!!
Here are some of my favorite quotes from the lovely Miss Barrymore. Hopefully this adds a little ray of sunshine to your day!! :)

“Daisies are like sunshine to the ground.”

“If you don't take risks, you'll have a wasted soul.”

“I pray to be like the ocean, with soft currents, maybe waves at times. More and more, I want the consistency rather than the highs and the lows.”

“I am fundamentally happy. Everyone has experiences that makes them cynical, jaded or unhappy - you just have to fight those things off. I have totally emotional days when I cry and get insecure. PMS weirded out, doomed and tragic. I mean, I'm definitely not just a lollipop, happy in the wind girl. I'm human just like everyone else, but I think that it would be tragic to be on your deathbed and think, 'I could've I should've.' That gets me out of bed everyday. I can't even last like an hour in bed in the morning. I have to get out there and live.”

“I don't want to be stinky poo-poo girl, I want to be happy flower child.”

“That thing, that moment, when you kiss someone and everything around becomes hazy and the only thing in focus is you and this person and you realize that that person is the only person that you're supposed to kiss for the rest of your life, and for one moment you get this amazing gift and you want to laugh and you want to cry because you feel so lucky that you found it and so scared that that it will go away all at the same time.”

"God made a very obvious choice when he made me voluptuous; why would I go against what he decided for me? My limbs work, so I'm not going to complain about the way my body is shaped."

"Sometimes I bust out and do things so permanent. Like tattoos and marriage."

"Oh, I love hugging. I wish I was an octopus, so I could hug 10 people at a time"

Isn't she amazing?

Colors in motion: LANA GOMEZ

Lana Gomez is one of  my FAVORITE artists!  I have a deep love for Abstract work.  I love the ability it has to make me feel happy, sad, relaxed, nostalgic and how it somehow always boosts my own creativity.  All of these emotions are pulled out of me simply by the colors, lines and shapes of the piece.  Without a definite object my mind has the freedom to explore.  This makes every piece personal.  It's the story behind the story.  I believe Abstract art can help uncover deep rooted thoughts and emotions that one didn't even know were brewing just underneath the surface.  It's a magical feeling to get swept away by a cerulean blue or magenta with splashes of burnt orange and teal.  The mix and directional strokes of these colors may calm your nerves and make the world seem like a more rounded place or you may simply be reminded that every little thing is gonna be alright! :)  Either way art is a powerful thing!  Which brings me back to Miss Lana Gomez.  Lana is an artist who studied art at the University of Tennessee and then moved to Los Angeles to pursue her career.   I love the intensity of her pieces.  I put together some of my favorites for you to enjoy!  To see more of her stunning work please visit www.lanagomez.com

LANA GOMEZ

I believe everyone possesses a creative flow that allows them to communicate in their own unique way; painting is how I express this notion. When I paint, I allow spontaneity to drive my creative process. My work reflects the lens through which I see the world – whether in color, shape or form. Each of my paintings pays homage to a remarkable nostalgic moment in my own life. It is my intention that when others experience my work, they will reflect on these types of moments in their lives while connecting to and feeling inspired by my own. -Lana Gomez

La Vie en Rose

The new Miss Dior film by Christian Dior is breathtakingly beautiful and romantic.  Miss Dior is played by the glowing Natalie Portman and the short film is directed by the ever so talented Sofia Coppola.   Let yourself fall in love this Spring!  Miss Dior fragrance was launched in 1947 and still today it's known for being a pure, elegant and precious perfume.  It's a gorgeous blend of Italian Mandarin Essence, Egyptian Jasmine Absolute and Indonesian Patchouli Essence.

Enjoy my darlings!

Top 5 Sexiest Perfumes

                         1. Coco Mademoiselle by CHANEL

This is my favorite scent of all time!  It's an acquired scent, kinda spicy but still sweet with floral notes.  It's a beautiful blend of mandarin, bergamot, Italian jasmine, ylang ylang, bourban vanilla and mimosa. I've been told the most seductive thing about this fragrance is how it lingers, even after I'm gone.

2. Pure Poison by Christian Dior

This perfume is heaven in a bottle!  The scent is delicious, intoxicating and full of passion!  Perfect for an intimate date night!  It's a seductive blend of orange blossom, jasmine, gardenia, amber and sandalwood. Yummy...

3.  Jimmy Choo by Jimmy Choo (self-titled fragrance)

This is a seriously sexy woodsy scent.  I loved it right away, it almost has a masculine vibe.  It reminded me of an expensive cigar, it's mysterious and intriguing.   Definitely not light and airy but perfect when paired with a little black dress and spiked stiletto heels.  I find the boldness empowering.  The blend consists of pear, tiger orchid, toffee caramel and patchouli.

4. Orange Blossom by JO MALONE

Pure and simple.  This fragrance is so soft, feminine and dreamy. Perfect first date scent!  "The scent of clementine leaves in the morning dew sparkles above a heart of orange blossom and water lily, transporting the wearer to a garden oasis." - JoMalone.com

5.  Euphoria by Calvin Klein

I used to be completely obsessed with this provocative, creamy and woodsy scent.  There are new variations of this fragrance available but I say stick to the original!  Once again this is a unique scent that is extremely sexy and alluring.  The gorgeous blend consists of exotic fruits, sensual florals, liquid amber and mahogany wood. Simply divine.

When picking your favorite fragrances try to remember what the elegant, opinionated and glamorous Coco Chanel once said:

"A woman who doesn't wear perfume has no future." Coco Chanel

Latest Color Obsession... TURQUOISE & RED

Can't stop finding ways to add more of this color combination in my life.  From my clothes, my paintings and the decor in my home, I'm totally obsessed.  I love mixing the bright rustic airy blue turquoise with all shades of red.  My favorite is a pomegranate shade of red with creams, peaches, powder blue and then finished with a POP of turquoise.  This bold combo makes me feel so alive and happy! I put some images together in hopes that you swoon and fall equally in love with these colors as I am!
 ENJOY!

Hope your weekend has been amazing!!
